Obituary of Jimmie Colleen Cebina
Jimmie Colleen Cebina was born on October 25, 1950, in Straight Creek, Kentucky. She was one of five children born to the union of James Goodin and Mary Alice (Wagner) Goodin. Jimmie attended Murray Wright High School in Detroit.
On January 19, 1973, at the Justice of Peace in Monroe, Michigan, Jimmie married the love of her life: Mr. David Thomas Cebina. Together the couple would be blessed with two beautiful children: David and Kati. Jimmie worked as an assembler with Auto Alliance in Flat Rock, a division of the Ford Motor Company for seventeen years before retiring in 2005. She was a proud member of the UAW Local 3000 in Woodhaven, Michigan.
Jimmie loved spending time in Northern Michigan. The family traveled often to spend quality time at their cabin on Hunter’s Lake in Glennie, Michigan. Another of her favorite destinations was being on the North Shore of Lake Superior at the top of Minnesota. Jimmie also loved to bowl and spend time with her four wonderful grandchildren.
Jimmie Colleen Cebina, age 71, of Frenchtown Township, Michigan passed away at home on Thursday; March 17, 2022. Her loving husband was at her side. She had been under the care of ProMedica Home Health Care and Hospice. The Cebina family expresses their deepest gratitude to nurses, Jessica and Aurora, for the kindness and compassion given to Jimmie as well as her massage therapist, Diane. Her passing was preceded by her parents; James and Mary Alice Goodin; her brother: James Goodin; and her godson: Matthew Gonzalez.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her husband of forty-nine years: David T. Cebina of Frenchtown Township; her son: David (Melinda) Cebina of Taylor, Michigan; her daughter: Kati (David) Kubiak of Wyandotte, Michigan; three sisters: Linda Gonzales (Guy Wright) of Monroe, Lisa (David) Hammer of Florida and Susan (Michael) Bauser; four precious grandchildren: Spencer, Rebecca, Addison and Lorelai.
No public services are planned, and a private family service will be held at a later date. Her care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation will take place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
