My condolences to Bill's family, friends and colleagues, especially at the library. Four of my seven children worked for Bill as pages at Ellis at various times over the years. I knew him in my capacity as a library rat. My every encounter with Bill was a good one. Even though l don't think l was a close friend of his, he always made me feel like l was. That was one of his gifts to me. The last time l saw Bill was early on in the pandemic. I had stopped by Ellis on my way to work to drop off some books in the drop box. Bill was there early, as I'm told he was known to do, and he came over to chat with me, because that's what he did. I was late for work that day, but I'll be forever grateful that l took the time, that HE took the time, to chat. A kind and generous guy. He will be missed. Joe Kennedy
