Obituary of Thomas Lee Greene

Thomas Lee Greene was born on May 10, 1958, in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.   He was one of four children born from the union of Willard Bartlett and Marvel Jean (Miller) Greene.   He was raised on the family dairy farm owned by his grandparents but later operated by his uncle.  Tom would attend and graduate from Luther High School in Onalaska, Wisconsin with the class of 1976.   Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country honorably.   During his enlistment, Tom, became qualified in submarine management.   He later would be Chief at the USS Toledo Base Submarine Veterans Group.   In this capacity, Tom, was responsible for coordinating organizations into local parades and functions, as well as basic base activities.

Tom would meet the love of his life, the former Diane Kohlmeyer.   While on leave from the Navy in May of 1982, the couple would be joined in marriage.   They would be blessed with two children.   In May of 1989, the family would move to Monroe, Michigan where, Tom, took employment with Detroit Edison as a maintenance operator.   He was an excellent provider for his wife and children as his career would span the next thirty-one years.

Tom was active in churches wherever he went and wasn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves serving on many church boards.  On occasion, Tom, enjoyed returning home to the former family homestead, although no longer in the family, to hunt deer.
