Prayers are with you Carol and your family. Jim was a great man and while I didn’t personally get to experience his teaching, the stories still make me laugh!

I am greatly saddened to read about Jim's passing. My condolences to the family for the loss of a truly great man and role model. I haven't seen Jim in 30+ years, but still think of him often and some of the fun times we had working on his farm and golf course. I started working for Jim when I was just 12 years old, and worked for him through high school. Many long days planting tomatoes and vegetables in the spring, followed by long days picking and hauling in the fall. He taught us how to work hard, but also the very important lesson of having fun too. I still remember him picking giant watermelons and hurling them through the air at us and telling us "if you drop it you bought it!" We all knew he was joking, because he always followed that up by telling us if we could catch that 20 pound melon then we should never drop a basketball. He really loved farming, hard work and sports. I could probably go on and on with good stories; Collectively they would all add up to him helping mold better people that knew how to work hard to achieve their goals. Rest easy in the farm fields and pastures of heaven Jim. You will be missed by all that knew you.

Please accept my deepest condolences and that of the Vann family!. We were saddened to hear of the passing of Jim. He was a terrific man we have often thought of him and your family as we talk about the memories of the Farm and working there when we were younger . I think about the times when I would run into Jim in town or different places and we would talk-he always had a smile on his face.
My Mother loved working at the Golf course and talking to Jim and Carol and was happy about the friendship they made. She would speak about this often and I know it made her happy.
Our thoughts and Prayers go out to you in this time of sorrow.

Mr Bruce was my 6th grade teacher at Garfield School in Adrian. He was a good teacher and challenged us to always do our best, whether it was in class or in sports. Our undefeated Garfield boys’ basketball team won the city championship that year with him at the helm. I learned a lot from him in many areas.
He taught his students life lessons in addition to academics. My condolences to his wife and family. May his soul rest in peace as his memory lives on through those who knew him best.

Sending our prayers for all of Mr. Bruce's family especially Carol and Adam. Mr. Bruce taught Bryce so much about working at the farm and Bryce really enjoyed everything he was shown. May God comfort you at this time.
