Derek and I spent a lot of time together in high school and college. A best friend and roommate, Derek had a great sense of humor. He was a remarkably smart individual with a wonderful heart. I have many great memories of him, driving around our home town. We would blast our favorite music, play video games for hours and make one another laugh hysterically. Though we lost touch in later years I will never forget his friendship. You will be missed, my friend.
