Obituary of Norman Stough
Norman D. Stough was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 20, 1926. He was one of three children born from the union of Kenneth and Beulah (Heisler) Stough. Norman attended Dundee High School. Shortly after graduation, in April of 1944, Norman enlisted in the United States Navy serving our great nation during World War II.
Bud, as he was widely known, married the love of his life the former Dorothy Schmidt on February 1, 1947. The couple were blessed with a daughter and a son of their own. To provide for his family, Bud worked in the family business, Dundee Builder’s Supply. Upon his father’s company closing, Bud headed back to his old stomping grounds, becoming a bus driver and custodian for the Dundee Community Schools.
Bud owned a house in Alba, Michigan with three of his close friends. This is where he began his pleasure of deer hunting. He especially treasured taking his son-in-law: Dwight on these trips and was quite pleased when his grandsons were old enough to join these outings as well. Bud and Dorothy lived on middle lake in the Irish Hills for over 30 years. When he was able he also liked casting a line in the lake to catch whatever was biting that day. For the past twenty-two years, Bud and Dorothy spent four or five months each year in Florida.
