Oh dear, I had no idea John passed away. I just started thinking about him and decided to search for him on Google and now I find his obit! He was a talented glass blowing artist; I will always treasure the beautiful blue glass bowl that sits at the center on my dining room table. Perhaps he came to mind today because I was looking for lilacs which are now in bloom to be placed in the lovely bowl he made. Every time I have dinner guests they always ask about the bowl because it is so unique and beautiful. May you rest in peace now John. I am sorry I didn't realized you had passed, but remember how Maria loved bears? Well, they are more rare now with all the bear hunting going on here, but last week I saw a bear going thru our yard and I thought of Maria and also of you.

My deepest condolences to Maria and Doug's family.
I partnered in the glass blowing studio with Doug and just found out he passed as I was out of the studio for covid. I always loved his focus on detail and form in his glass. He was generous with his time, resources, praise, and interests. Because of Doug, I often order preserves from the monastery. I miss our phone conversations and his stories about his cats. My heart is heavy but thoughts of our connection are very bright.

It is with great saddness to have to say goodbye to our beloved ( our cousin) Doug. He has brought so many facets to our lives and he will be dearly missed. His wit, his story telling, his desire to learn new things and keep the old front and center has always kept things in full circle with our family. He will be remembered and cherished for his outlook on life, for his creativity and his caring and loving spirit. May warm memories touch those that knew him well and hold you in this in this time of sorrow.

I'm so blessed to have had created great memories with Doug. I have several pieces of his blown glass that I will admire in his memory especially the blue pieces. His passing has left a hole in our hearts, but the memories will be cherished forever.

My prayers go out to John's family losing a loved one can become challenging and a difficult time. However, those that are left behind can be comforted in knowing that when we have a personal relationship with Christ we go home to live with Him in heaven. We honor our parents by seeing that their needs are met and genuinely strive to maintain harmony. Often times, feelings of being overwhelmed while experiencing grief can cause us to lose sight of what is really important! Looking ahead and around the bend can inspire those who are surrounded by strife and turmoil. Let your words be kind and uplifting. Be prepared to go beyond and above what is expected. Call a loved one or a loyal friend and encourage each other, allow for healing.
