Obituary of Gerrie Kay Arsenault
Gerrie Kay Walker was on born October 8, 1958, in Charleston, West Virginia. She was one of five children born from the union of Jerry and Wanda (Mullins) Walker. Gerrie wed Maurice “Rocky” Arsenault on December 22, 1979. The couple would be blessed with a son and daughter. Gerri simply adored her husband and he was the center of her world. Everything she did was for family and she devoted her life to caring for their needs as a homemaker. She even extended her love to several foster children.
The consummate lady, Gerrie always looked her best, even if she were painting her home or refinishing furniture. She wouldn’t even walk to the mailbox without her cosmetics perfectly applied and famously said “a lady always wears lipstick”. Gerrie was constantly adding to her extensive wardrobe. She also enjoyed perusing antique stores in search of hidden treasures. Gerrie embraced her femininity rarely being seen in pants and often dressed in dresses and pink was her color.
A kind and gentle woman, Gerrie was full of life and love. Although she was shy and reserved for the most part, Gerrie loved to laugh and the silliest things amused her. She enjoyed hosting backyard parties and watching her grandchildren enjoy themselves riding ATV’s around the yard. Gerrie’s idea of the perfect evening was watching the sun set while sipping on peach tea.
