Obituary of Franklin Eugene Taylor

Please share a memory of Franklin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Franklin Eugene Taylor was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 12, 1952. He was one of four children born to the union of Wayne Eugene Taylor and Vera Pauline (Preston) Taylor. Frank was a 1970 graduate of Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan. He loved his country, therefore proudly served in the United States Army. Frank was employed in the quality assurance department of Gerdau Special Steel in Monroe, Michigan for forty years before retiring in 2020.

It was well known that Franklin enjoyed frequent visits to Tim Hortons, sometimes multiple times a day. Frank was a family man and very much so enjoyed family get-togethers and could always be counted on to bring the ham or turkey. That’s when he would take his snap shots with the perfect combos. Great for giving his very specific dad speeches that can still be recited word for word. He was such a proud father and grandfather and loved attending their sporting events and cheering from the sidelines. As a way of showing how impressed he would be with their talent, he would say, “Did you take lessons in that?”

Franklin Eugene Taylor, age 70, of Monroe, Michigan passed away peacefully at ProMedica Toledo Hospital on Monday; August 1, 2022. His passing was preceded by his parents; a sister: Rosemarie Taylor; a brother: Brady Taylor; and a beloved canine companion: “Maxx”, an English Mastiff Frank raised from a puppy.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons: Justin Taylor and Joshua (Angela) Taylor; a daughter: Lindsay Taylor; five grandchildren: Bayleigh, Brooklyn, Alyssa, Jake, and Jack Taylor; a brother: Dan (Rose) Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
