Obituary of David Paul Mattingly
David “Dave” Paul Mattingly was born on October 11, 1975 in Dearborn, Michigan. He was born of Daniel Patrick and Patricia Ann (Curtis) Jacob. Edward Ray Mattingly raised David as his own. Dave attended Truman High School in Trenton, Michigan. He was employed as a journeyman tree trimmer, as a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 17.
Dave was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed every moment and every aspect of being outdoor, from his love of deer hunting to his passion for fishing in the quarry for whatever might bite, with his partner in crime: Danielle. He loved his work and especially cutting down trees. He took advantage of his Second Amendment Rights and loved guns. He also was quite fond of anything fast or turbocharged with the F350 Super Duty turbo diesel garnering his attention.
Dave had a love for music and would listen all varieties as long as it had a catchy beat. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was an awesome “Poppy” to his five-year-old granddaughter. Dave had a heart of gold, was a fantastic son and companion, was an excellent father, a fantastic grandfather, and a beloved friend.
