Obituary of Nicole Desiree Trimmer
Nicole Desiree Ostrowski was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 19, 1971. She was the daughter of Frederick Henry Ostrowski and Frances Ann (Frey) Ostrowski Hintz. Nikki attended elementary school in Toledo until moving to Michigan. She graduated with the Class of 1989 from Ida High School, and then continued her education studying Fashion and Business at Owens Community College graduating in 1992.
In 1993, she would meet the love of her life, Shawn M. Trimmer. The couple were married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ida on June 9, 1995. Nikki and Shawn would be blessed with two wonderful children: Braden and Ashlen. As a wife and mother she was self-less, loving, caring, and supportive. With an infectious smile, Nikki, was a constant “Ray of Sunshine”, and always seemed to be optimistic. Her personality allowed her to make friends easily, and as a source inspiration and encouragement to those around her, kept them for life.
Nikki loved to spend time with family and friends always looking to make memories and taking photos of anything and everything. Camping and kayaking were favorite pastimes, and the Wilderness Campground was a common destination. Wherever she went, Nikki, combed the shorelines collecting beach glass.
Nikki was well-known for her frugal personality. Although, she enjoyed visits to Las Vegas and Hollywood Casino, she was sure to keep herself and Shawn on a strict budget. Much to the chagrin to those in her presence, her quirks included adding ketchup to just about everything she ate, brown sugar on spaghetti, and washing it all down with her favorite beverage, Mountain Dew. She enjoyed listening to Elton John and Pink Floyd and proved to everyone that moon boots never went out of style.
For twenty-three years she was employed by Kuras Dental Health Associates in Monroe. In her role as a Patient and Insurance Coordinator she earned the respect and love of her fellow employees and patients. She would work in a similar capacity for Namay Dentistry from 2017-2020.
The past two years, Nikki, had enjoyed attending worship, Bible study, and ladies groups at Compelled Church in Temperance.
