Obituary of Brittany Renee Hess
Brittany Renee Hess was born on December 13, 1992 in Toledo, Ohio to Gary Hess and Karen Dusseau. Brittany had practiced hairstyling and makeup application techniques since she was a young girl, at times on her hesitant little sister. She fulfilled her dream to become a professional cosmetologist upon graduating from Michigan College of Beauty in Monroe, Michigan in 2019. Brittany worked at various salons in the Monroe area and was also recently employed at McDonald’s restaurant.
A parishioner of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe since 2014, Brittany was a member of the church choir. Her outgoing and energetic personality was perfectly suited for social media. An aspiring influencer, Brittany presented makeup tutorials and unboxing videos on YouTube. She also displayed her sense of humor on TikTok.
Brittany enjoyed taking her children to the park and celebrating their birthdays with elaborate party plans. She and her son would venture into the woods to hike and catch frogs, while time spent with her daughter involved all things girly. Brittany had seen her favorite movie, “The Wizard of Oz” countless times. Her adventurous spirit led her to try new recipes found scrolling through Facebook. A true sweetheart, Brittany had a deeply caring soul combined with a lighthearted nature.
Brittany Renee Hess, age 29, of Monroe, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 21, 2022. Her passing was preceded by her maternal grandparents: James and Cheryl Dusseau; paternal grandparents: Ray and Dorothy Hess; aunt: Nicole Dodson; and feline friend: “Jewel” whom Brittany’s mother had surprised her with after she’d expressed excitement at the idea of adopting a kitten.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her precious children: Colton Watts and Arya Hutsko; mother: Karen Dusseau; father: Gary Hess; sisters: Tracey (Dan) Dippman and Amada White (Michael Stiffler); brothers: Zachary (Cassandra) Hess, Tyler White (Jetta Lewis), and Johnny Vogel; aunt: Dee Roe; and uncles: Ken Dusseau (Amy Bausman) and Alex Plumb.
Friends may gather on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Brittany’s Life will follow at 5:00pm also at Merkle’s with Pastor Terrance Johnson officiating. Cremation will take place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
