Kenneth Trowbridge

Obituary of Kenneth Trowbridge

Kenneth Raymond Trowbridge was born on October 25, 1932, in Whitman Hollow, Tennessee. He was one son born from the union of Peter and Hettie (Ridenour) Trowbridge. Kenneth would further his education by taking courses so he could become certified as a machinist. He would then be gainfully employed as a machinist for McLouth Steel for over forty years.  Kenneth would marry the love of his life, the former Betty Woods on October 11, 1952, by the Rev. Ira A. Moses at the Franklin Street Church of God Monroe, Michigan. The loving couple would be blessed with the birth of three children.

Ken, along with his wife Betty and their children would enjoy many summers at their lake house on Little Long Lake in Freemont, Indiana. Ken would not miss an opportunity to cast a line with his fishing buddy, Jim Pulford. The duo treasured each other’s company while catching whatever was biting on any given day in Lake Erie.

Ken possessed a green thumb where he could plant a vegetable garden in the early Spring and harvest the bounty in the Fall by canning the vegetables, especially beets. He even seemed to retain the talent to make his own sauerkraut. On occasion, Ken could be seen whipping up his favorite meal of liver and onions, which was not a favorite of his children. He also liked to get the clan together so he could prepare one of his famous fish fry meals for them all to enjoy. Ken’s children joked that if he wasn’t cooking something, he was eating something.
