Obituary of Gere DeRoch
Gere Plass was born in Wyandotte, Michigan on May 1, 1937. She was one daughter born from the union of Edward and Irene (Buchanan) Plass. Gere would attend and graduate with the class of 1955 from Wyandotte Roosevelt High School.
After her children were older, Gere would begin her own company as a home health care provider for the elderly and for our Military Veterans. In fact, Gere once made sure one of our Veterans received the medals and honors he was entitled to receive. Gere also sought employment at Coach Leather, at the outlet center in West Branch, Michigan. During this job Gere earned top salesperson, but her family joked that she was a top customer instead.
As someone who was very concerned about her own health and wellbeing, Gere would break a sweat six or seven days every week by working out. Her fitness level allowed her to take her grandchildren on at least three-mile hikes. Some jokingly said this was so she could tire the kids so they would avoid messing up her house.
Gere DeRoch, age 85, of Monroe County passed away suddenly at Beaumont Trenton Hospital on Wednesday June 1, 2022. In addition to her passing, she is preceded by both her parents; one son: Michael DeRoch.
