Obituary of Huguette Marie Lucienne Clevinger
Huguette Marie Lucienne Noel was born on February 26, 1945, in Paris, France. She was one of five children born to the union of Michel Mersel and Charlotte Giselle (Biard) Noel. She was educated in Paris earning her high school diploma in 1963. Huguette and her husband, Curtis Dennis Clevinger whom she met in Paris while he was serving in the United States Air Force would move to Newport, Michigan in May of 1967, where the two would start a family. She was blessed with four wonderful children and cared for the needs of her husband and children as a homemaker. After Huguette and Curtis divorced, she met Dalvin Arnold, the love of her life, and spent thirty-three years together before his passing in 2018.
Huguette was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Monroe, Michigan. She enjoyed volunteering her time in service to others. She loved doing arts and crafts, and being a
naturally giving person, spent much of her free time knitting and crocheting items that were given away to various shelters and organizations that helped the homeless or others in need. Huguette was extremely proud of her children and was quite fond of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Huguette Marie Lucienne Clevinger, age 77, of Monroe, Michigan passed away on Monday; April 25, 2022, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her parents: Michel Mersel and Charlotte Giselle Noel and her sister: Lyliane Marie Louise (Noel) Klein.
To cherish her memory she leaves three beautiful daughters: Patricia Marie Noel (Ryan Gross) of Monroe, Marie-Laure Michelle Clevinger (Richard Pollock) , Shelbyville, TN, and Melinda Sue (Randy) Meyer of Lambertville, Michigan; one son: Patrick Claude (Regina) Clevinger of Carleton, Michigan; two sisters: Dominique (Patrick) Noel and Marice Noel and one brother: Regis Noel, all of France; six grandchildren: Tosha Lynn Clevinger, Patrick Curtis Clevinger, Robert Lee Pollock, Nakisha Leigh Pollock, Joshua Benjamin (Shannon) Howe, and Carly Marie Libstorff; five great grandchildren: Lukas Andrew White; Braxton Taylor Pollock, Trenton Pierce Pollock, Alayna Nicole Maddox, and Polaire Huguette Clevinger.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
