Obituary of Sharon Emily Hoerner

Sharon Emily Moore was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 28, 1942. She was one of seven children born to Lyman Moore Sr. and Dorothy (Morgan) Henczel. Sharon was a graduate of Monroe High School. As a young woman she became proficient in shorthand. Sharon put her skills to work as a legal secretary for several attorneys. She was very intelligent and had a great memory.

Proud to be a born again Christian, Sharon deeply loved Jesus Christ. She was a former member of New Life Fellowship Church in Cross Plains, Tennessee. Sharon had spent much of her life in California before relocating to Tennessee and then returning to her home state of Michigan sixteen years ago. A talented pianist, she shared the gift of music by tutoring others. She also played piano and sung with her beautiful voice at church. Although Sharon experienced numerous health challenges throughout her life, she always found a way to persevere.

Sharon Emily Hoerner, age 79, of Monroe, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday; April 5, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her father: Lyman Moore Sr.; mother: Dorothy Henczel; step-mother: Bernice Moore; step-father: Theodore Henczel; and brother: Lyman Moore Jr.

Left to cherish her memory are her son: Michael (Emily) Hoerner; three grandsons: Chad (Whittney) Hoerner, Angus Hoerner, and Max Hoerner; three great grandchildren: Zella, Maddox, and Lucas Hoerner; three sisters: Diane Middaugh, Deborrah (Herman) Yentz, and Sandy Barber; and two brothers: Theodore (Anaisa) Moore and Rodney (Sandy) Moore.

Sharon’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
