Obituary of Vonda Ann Taylor
Vonda Ann Smith was born on September 28, 1958, in Piqua, Ohio. She was one of three children born from the marriage of Robert and Julie (Collins) Smith. Vonda would attend and graduate from Jefferson High School with the class of 1976.
Vonda was blessed with the birth of three daughters and one son. She treasured the time she spent raising them and when the gift of grandchildren came along she was overjoyed. Vonda loved the company of others and carrying conversation. For many years she worked as a bartender at the F.O.E of Monroe, as well as the V.F.W of Rockwood and Newport.
Vonda enjoyed attending concerts with her siblings and cousins in her younger years. Tom Petty, Rod Stewart, or Huey Lewis could be heard at any event in which Vonda was present. She also enjoyed gathering with friends to play darts. In her later years, she filled her time in the privacy of her home, reading novels and streaming her favorite shows. She preferred to watch anything British although her preference was Downton Abbey. Vonda also enjoyed playing Bingo with her mother and sister at St. Anne’s Church and on occasion at the Knights of Columbus in Monroe. Above all, Vonda’s greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren. Whether it was attending sporting events, recitals, plays, or just spending time with them, Vonda was at her happiest in these moments. Vonda’s greatest resolve was her strength to persevere though all of life challenges. She faced, battled, and was a survivor of 3 different forms of cancer.
