Obituary of Gloria Elaine Strimpel
Gloria Elaine Bromley was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 19, 1945. She was one of two children born from the union of Fred and Dorothy Dean (Shirlitz) Bromley. Gloria would attend and graduate from Denby High School.
Gloria would be blessed with seven children. She married the love of her life, Ronald Strimpel, on August 2, 1993, in Toledo, Ohio. For many years she was employed at Joe’s French Italian Inn as a chef.
Above anything, Gloria loved her family. She especially treasured any event or occasion she could share with her grandchildren. Without hesitation she often stated that the grandchildren were her life. Attending family gatherings and cookouts were cherished events because it brought them all together. Annually the family made a jaunt to Florida. Their trips to the Sunshine State took them from Orlando to any of the beaches. The excursions made sure to include water fun for Gloria. She seemed to be most in her glory whenever she was in some form of water; swimming in the ocean or a pool, or even relaxing in a hot tub.
Each year, Gloria, would plant a vegetable garden. She always enjoyed sharing her harvest and planted enough produce so that Ronald could load up bags and hand them out to all their neighbors. When Gloria planted her flower garden in the Spring, she would also be sure to include a Gardenia flower in her front yard for all passersby to enjoy.
