Condolences to Linda(beloved wife) and rest of the Patterson Family. Memories will be in your hearts forever. Rick will be remembered for his beautiful woodworking. I remember a beautiful cradle that he had made for Matt and had hoped that it would be passed down to Matts children. His nephew is 36 now and remains single.Rick made a plaque with our last name, the words est.and year we were married for Dave and me for our 1st Christmas together. This plague is 41 years old now and continues to hang in our hall. Linda, I wish you the best of luck and hope that the love you hold for Rick and the wonderful life you had with him will help push you towards a peaceful future. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from family and friends they will be there to help as needed. With deepest sympathy, Sandy,Dave and Matthew Davies

It was wonderful seeing you be a loving and adoring Grandpa to Isla. Wish you could have met your grandson. I love you and miss you, and I will make sure Isla remembers you. Thank you for being my Dad.

I am shocked to hear of Rick’s passing. May he rest in Eternal Peace. My sincere condolences to his wife Linda and his sons and all the family.
My last seven or so years at Ford Rawsonville I worked very close with Rick. I enjoyed working with him. Besides being pleasant and having a good sense of humor, Rick was thorough, methodical, goal-oriented, and very helpful.
After I retired he kept in touch via email or occasional phone call. When, in 2012, I mentioned to Rick that I was thinking of retiring he wrote down 10 hilarious reasons why I shouldn’t retire entitled “10 Reasons You Shouldn’t Take The Buy-out” and gave me a printout of it in a clear slip-on protective jacket. I still have it displayed on the wall above my home desk. I chuckle each time I look at it.
Rick was a good good man.

Rick was such a good friend. Rick, Mark and T rock & roll were my boys back in the day
We spent a lot of time playing guitars together. And he always made me laugh.
The world seems smaller now that he's gone, I will miss him.

Rick was a good friend back in Stevenson High School. We graduated in 1974 together and he, Bruce Whitsel, Tom Moyles and I spent a lot of time together. Rick and Bruce were involved with the high school closed circuit radio station WSTE ("Waste Radio" as we called it). Somehow I lost touch with Rick over the years, but he was a very friendly guy and I really regret not keeping touch. He played clarinet in the school band, i was in the drum section. We were a pretty horrid band it turns out... but some players went on to careers in music. Being a clarinet player, Rick got to be surrounded by girls, a position I thought at the time was much better than what I had. Rest in Peace, buddy. Mark

Rick has been my best friend since High School. It’s hard to pick out just one memory to write about here because there are so many. At one point in our lives we spent so much time together that when the day was over, instead of saying “goodbye”. We would say “see you later on today”. Rick was the best man at my wedding. There is a picture of Pam and I walking down the aisle after the ceremony on my desk. Rick’s smiling face is the only other face in the picture - just behind us, over my left shoulder. I see Rick’s face every day and will see it for the rest of my life.
