Rosemary Fryman

Obituary of Rosemary Fryman

Rosemary LaBell was born on December 16, 1954 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of eight children born to the union of Alfred and Ida Mae (Jondro) LaBell. Rose graduated from Airport High School in Carleton, Michigan with the Class of 1973. She later attended Coleman Beauty School in Flat Rock, Michigan. On April 18, 1975 Rose wed the love of her life, Russell Fryman, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Carleton. They enjoyed forty-seven years of marriage and were blessed with a daughter and a son. Rose was employed as a teacher’s aide at Airport Community Schools for more than twenty years before retiring in 2010.

Rose enjoyed perusing antique stores and garage sales for treasures such as jewelry, lamps, and Fenton milk glass. She did frequent research and had a great depth of knowledge of collectables. Rose also had a great appreciation for the random, odd item and once purchased an accordion she definitely did not know how to play! She equally enjoyed selling her finds on Facebook Marketplace and EBAY and hosting her own garage sales. A social person, Rose met many new friends along the way.

For years, Rose spent every Thursday night playing bingo at the V.F.W. Hall in Carleton and luck was often on her side. She cultivated a garden and canned homemade strawberry jam every season. Rose was often on the lookout for Hummingbirds and Cardinals flying about in her yard. She enjoyed watching games shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, and playing cards and board games with her family. More than anything else, Rose loved spending time with her grandchildren. It was well known that they got anything they wanted at Grandma’s house. A caretaker at heart, her compassionate nature extended to everyone.
