Obituary of Juanita Belle Kuhlman
Juanita Belle Snell was born on February 24, 1927, in Milan, Michigan. She was the only daughter of three children born from the union of Harrison and Edna (Braunlich) Snell. Juanita attended and graduated from Dundee High School with the class of 1943. She met, fell in love, and married Frank Kuhlman. The couple would be blessed with the birth of three children and shared many wonderful years until his passing in 1988.
Juanita loved to play a friendly game or two of Rummy with her friends and family. She especially treasured the times when she proudly made it her job to teach her grandchildren the rules of playing the card game. She liked to play, but REALLY liked to win when she played. Casting and molding ceramics was another one of Juanita’s favorite pastimes. In her earlier years, Juanita would travel all over the United States to attend ceramic shows, with her husband. She also dabbled in making jewelry to sell at craft shows and to give as gifts. Many of her friends and family were honored to receive the handmade earrings, bracelets and necklaces Juanita painstakingly made herself.
Juanita was a devout Christian woman, attending weekly services at the St. John Lutheran Church in Dundee. She would attend the many dinners the church would hold, and she also looked forward to the camping excursions they offered as well. Juanita had a great love for animals, especially the Poodle breed of dogs, which she exclusively owned throughout her lifetime.
Juanita Belle Kuhlman, age 94, of Dundee passed away at 2:28pm on February 3, 2022 at ProMedica Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio. Her passing was preceded by her beloved husband and two brothers: Fred Snell and Robert Snell.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her three children: Sharon Kuhlman, Robert (Kathy) Kuhlman, Diane (Scott) Leibowitz; four grandchildren: Garrett (Jessi) Kuhlman, Mitchell Kuhlman, Jason Leibowitz, Jessica Leibowitz; and one great grandson: Lukas Kuhlman.
Friends may gather on Monday; February 7, 2022, from 10:00am until the time of the Celebration of Her Life at 11:00am at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. Pastor Jen Kiefer of St. John Lutheran Church officiating. Cremation has taken place through Covent Cremation of Erie.
