Only met Bob a couple of times when I was Very young, but knew Aunt Pat and Uncle Bob well. So sorry, you must have many happy memories of a fun man. Distant cousin from Richard Burgess Jr. Kathy Burgess Seguin

Everyone who knew Robert knew that he was a loving Son, Husband, Father, and Papaw. The world lost such a wonderful soul that I am proud to have known. Anyone who knew him knew his smile could melt even the hardest souls. I have spent my entire life appreciating the never ending love that he gave to those who cared and spent time with him. This man taught me what it was like to be proud of who I am and to always take care of the ones who took care of you. I will forever be able to say Papaw, Little Robert and I will forever try to make you proud and always keep your memories alive. We love you and we will miss you forever and always.

Bob played one year for me (Mike Ansel) on our Local 723 team that won the Michigan State ASA Industrial league title (1976). We had won the State title the year before, but two players jumped ship on me and I had to replace them. Bob was a perfect fit. Easy to manage. He played the whole tournament at 1st. base and did an awesome job. In one game he made an unassisted double play by diving for a low line drive. The runner on first bolted for second as he thought the ball was through for a hit. Bob surprised everyone with the catch and then diving to the bag for a inning ending double play. He also hit over 500 in our quest for back to back titles. Quite soft spoken Bob was one of the reasons we won. Blessings to your family Bob I know they will miss you. See ya in heaven old friend and we can catch up. In Christ love Mike Ansel.

I played with my dad. He was the oldest on the field and he still played SS. He could still get to balls in the hole and peg them at 1st. We played basketball together too and, as the oldest, we ran everything through him on the high post. My brother and I were blessed to play with him for a few years and know he was proud of all of his teams. Even in his elderly state, he would recall games and plays almost at will. Thank you for sharing. - Steve Burgess
