Obituary of Ronald Allen Morris

Ronald Allen Morris was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 28, 1963. He was the youngest of sixteen children born to the union of Charles Morris Sr. and Clarabelle (Eckert) Morris. As a young boy, Ron and his siblings worked alongside their parents in the family store, C & J Fish Market, in Monroe. He attended Monroe High School and later vocational school, where he earned an HVAC license. On October 23, 2004 Ron wed the former Andrea Steinman in Monroe. The couple enjoyed 28 years together with seventeen years of marriage and shared six children together. Ron was employed at Benckiser Company for twenty-two years before the plant’s closure. He later worked and retired in maintenance at Hidden Trail Apartments. Ron was a member of Monroe Outreach Assembly of God Church where he found his salvation in Christ.

Ron enjoyed being out on the water boating and fishing. He towed his camper all over the state of Michigan and often rented a log cabin in Holly. During the summer months he could be seen cruising around town on his Honda motorcycle. Ron was considered the “grill master” of the family and loved to keep his friends and family’s bellies full. They especially enjoyed his pork tenderloin filled with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon. However, the little ones in the family looked forward to his “Grandpa sandwich”: bologna and miracle whip on white bread. He was proud to have cultivated a bountiful vegetable garden every season.

Ron was the “go-to” guy if anything needed to be fixed and he was always happy to help. A deeply caring person, he truly loved to take care of others. He had many friends and seemed to know everyone. Even if he were halfway across the country, Ron would run into someone he knew. More than anything else, he adored his grandchildren. They were his world.

His family would like to give a special “thank you” to their Church Monroe Outreach Assembly of God Church for their love and support during this difficult time and having Church with praise/worship in their living room.
