Obituary of Susanne Annelise Yates
Susanne Annelise Kissner was born in Hosbach, Germany on September 28, 1968. She was one of four children born from the union of Michael Wilhelm and Rita Margaretha (Amberg) Kissner.
As an avid seamstress, Susanne took on many projects throughout her life. It came as no surprise to her family and friends when she opened her own sewing store, A+ Alterations and More in Monroe. Not only could Susanne fix another’s sewing mishaps she had the ability to create beautiful work from scratch. Her uncanny skilled allowed her to complete projects of nearly any size in just a matter of days.
When she did not have a needle or thread in her hands, Susanne enjoyed relaxing in the bath. She usually picked up a big, thick book to relax and read while soaking in the warmth of the tub. Susanne often approached her tasks with a black coffee in hand, no cream or sugar for her. Although, most recently she turned to an ice cold Perrier sparkling water to quench her thirst preferring it out of the can over the bottle. Susanne also enjoyed listening to Rock and Roll music, especially to the tunes of her favorite band, The Beatles.
Susanne Annelise Yates, age 53, of Newport, passed away at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital on Thursday; January 13, 2022. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
To cherish her memory, she leaves one son: Michael Yates (Tianna Reno); one grandson: Sebastian Yates; three siblings: Ursula Edeltraud König, Pia Hannelore Ehser and Peter Manfred Kissner.
No public services have been planned. Susanne’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
