Laura Hudson

Obituary of Laura Jane Hudson

Laura Jane Russeau was born on September 21, 1948, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of three children born from the union of James Cletus and Betty Jane (Dusseau) Russeau. She grew up on Kelly Road and graduated from Monroe High School.

Following her first marriage, Laura, was blessed with two sons and they made their home in Carleton.   For many years, Laura, helped to provide for her family as a Nurse’s Aide.

Laura loved to eat.   Although, she was stricken with diabetes and a host of allergies to certain nutrients she looked forward to devouring all her cravings regardless of the consequences of her actions.  She also really enjoyed eating the fresh vegetables out of her nieces garden.  Laura was also quite memorable due to her small stature.   She was often seen tooling around her neighborhood on her scooter, made just for her size.   She also had a smaller than “normal” size Lazy Boy chair she could relax in while watching her favorite game shows and soap operas. One of her favorite pastimes was watching the traffic drive by as she relaxed in her preferred front porch rocker.

As a young woman, Laura, enjoyed crocheting Afghans, but as of late, she was just as satisfied to complete a project and then immediately pull it apart to begin something else.   Laura did not possess a credit card, but that did not stop her from making mail order purchases.   Her family became quite familiar with her shopping obsession after she passed, since packages have continued to arrive all with the special Cash-On-Delivery option.

Being tired of the awful bitter cold Michigan winters, Laura, made her home in Tennessee.   She loved all the beautiful scenery the southern state had to offer, however, when her health began to decline, she left her paradise to come back to Michigan.

Laura Jane Hudson, age 73, of Redford, formerly of Monroe, passed away at 11:50pm on Wednesday; January 5, 2022, at Garden City Hospital.   Her passing was preceded by her parents, her first husband, and her second husband: John Hudson.
