Obituary of John Luthy
Ervin John Luthy, affectionately known by many as “John” was born on February 22, 1963, in Monroe, Michigan. John and his sister; Debbie were born from the union of Gordon John and Joann Helen (Omler). John attended Ida High School in Ida, Michigan and graduated with the class of 1981. He was employed by Czarnowski Collective as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 687.
On September 3, 1982, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Monroe, Michigan John married the former, Lisa Badalamenti. The couple would be blessed with three wonderful children. Being a carpenter by trade John loved working with his hands and building various items. He handmade end tables, built model ships and airplanes and made bunk beds for his grandsons, Max and Gavin. John always had a lighter ready to light candles on the birthday cakes. He loved going to airshows and watching airplanes from World War II. He loved his 2005 Ford Mustang GT. John always grew a large garden with corn, green beans, and tomatoes that his mother would can. John enjoyed growing pumpkins for his grandchildren to carve for Halloween. He was a true dog lover growing up with German Shepherds but was especially fond of his dogs, Roxy and Bailey.
John was the ultimate family man. He was a constant fixture, supporting his grandchildren at all their sporting events. At one point in each of his children’s lives, they and their families had all returned to live with their dad in the childhood home that he built. His family was his number 1 priority in his life. John loved his children and grandchildren dearly and was very excited for the birth of his 9th grandchild due at the end of January.
