Obituary of Kenneth Hoffman

Kenneth Richard (Ken) Hoffman, age 56, of Ida, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in Sylvania, Ohio.

Ken was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan to Richard and Nancy Hoffman on August 8, 1965. He was a graduate of Ida High School and went on to Lincoln Technical Institute for the Diesel Technology program. He was a skilled diesel mechanic for over 35 years and currently worked at Michigan Gas Utilities as a Distribution Technician.

Ken had always been a motorhead at heart. Whether it was riding dirt bikes, an up-north snowmobile trip, or being out on the lake boating, he never missed an opportunity for a good time. He was charismatic, full of wit, and had an unmatched ability to make everyone laugh. Ken was truly a joy to be around - everything was just “Gravy” once he entered the room.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Robin Hoffman; parents: Richard and Nancy Hoffman; children: Kory Hoffman and Kelsey (Logan) Swearingen; siblings: Patty Monhollen and Chris (Holly) Hoffman; grandson: Lincoln Swearingen; niece: Natasha (Branden) Brown; great-niece and nephew: Harper and Coy Brown; Melissa (Mitch Tyra) Black, Bryce, and Reegan. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Frederick and Florine Krueger and Golden (Bud) and Doris Hoffman.

A Celebration of Ken’s life will take place at a later date. Ken’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Erie; 9156 Summit Street, Erie, Michigan 48133, and Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie.
