Obituary of Daniel Plocharczyk
Daniel Plocharczyk was born on July 6, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of six children born from the union of Chester and Helen (Rutkowski) Plocharczyk. He would attend Saint
Francis Grade School and graduate from St. Hedwig High School in Detroit with the class of 1973 and later he would obtain his Associate Degree from the Henry Ford Community College. Daniel would marry the love of his life, the former Mary Waypa, on June 18, 1993. The happy couple would be blessed with the birth of two children. To provide for his family, Daniel was currently employed with the City of Novi as a Mechanical Inspector. Daniel retired in 2013 from the City of Detroit. He had 30 years in the Building and Safety Engineering Department.
Daniel appreciated the great outdoors. He looked forward to hitting the links anytime possible with River Raisin and Sandy Creek Golf Courses being favorites. He never missed an opportunity to stake out Michigan’s Upper Peninsula with Iron Mountain being another familiar destination watching for deer with his great friend, Leo Mysierwicz. For many years, Daniel owned a boat, and with fishing being a pastime, he loved to toss a line in Lake Erie.
Daniel treasured time spent with his family and friends for all occasions. He especially enjoyed preparing meals, baking, and always trying new recipes. Daniel was well-known for his infectious laugh. He loved to be the center of attention and could often be heard telling a joke or making voice impressions to entertain those within earshot. A great singer, and the ultimate entertainer, on occasion, he could also be heard belting out his favorite tunes.
