Phyllis Botticher

Obituary of Phyllis Botticher

Phyllis Botticher was born on January 1, 1947, in Kalmazoo, Michigan.   She was one of two children born from the union of Walter and Jo-Ann (Benzenberg) Botticher.   Phyllis spent most of her life on the west side of the State of Michigan, living in Kalamazoo.   She moved to the Monroe area recently to be cared for by her extended family when her health declined.

Phyllis was extremely talented with her hands.   She painstakingly spent much of her free time creating beautiful cross stitch images.   A generous and kind soul, Phyllis, often could be found crocheting blankets and scarves to give as gifts to her family and friends.

As a young woman, Phyllis, stayed active by participating in several bowling leagues.   She appreciated the opportunity to show off her skills by tossing a strike at the local bowling alley.

Phyllis had a soft spot for all animals, but she particularly enjoyed the companionship of her canine friends.   Although she had dogs of all breeds throughout her life, Phylllis, became quite fond of the toy poodle.

Phyllis Botticher, age 74 of Monroe, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away at 10:26am on Friday; November 26, 2021, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.   Her passing was preceded by both of her parents; her daughter: Tammy; and her brother: Russ Botticher.

To cherish her memory, she leaves several cousins:  James Botticher, Michael Botticher, Richard (Deborah) Botticher, and Sandy Collier.

No public services are planned and her care was entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie.
