Obituary of Ramona Martha Ofstie
Ramona Martha Berlin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 28, 1944. She was one of six children born to William Berlin Sr. and Martha (Pierzchalski) Jopke. On September 28, 1968 Ramona wed Reese Ofstie at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Waterford, Wisconsin. The couple enjoyed fifty-three years of marriage and were blessed with a son.
Ramona was employed as a supervisor at the Southern Wisconsin Center for the Developmentally Disabled for thirty-six years before moving to Monroe, Michigan. Her patient and caring nature made her perfectly suited for the job. She enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans, hanging towels, scarves, hats, and gloves to gift to her friends and family.
Ramona Martha Ofstie, age 77, of Monroe, Michigan left this life on Wednesday; November 17, 2021 after a brief battle with metastasized lung cancer. She was in her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice.
Ramona was the beloved wife of Reese A. Ofstie; dear mother of Ryan A. (Tammy V.) Ofstie; loving grandmother to Emily Elizabeth and Logan Grace Ofstie; great grandmother to Niyah, Jacob, and Addilynn Rose; daughter of the late William Berlin and the late Martha Jopke; cherished sister of Arthur (Susan) Berlin, Donald (Sharon) Berlin, Barbara (the late Fred) Kamp, the late Margaret (the late Raymond) Kuehn, and the late William Berlin Jr. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
