Obituary of David Joseph Marchese Sr.
David Joseph Marchese Sr. was born on May 30, 1965. He was one of three children born from the union of Casper and Madeline (Patterfritz) Marchese. A “jack of all trades”, Dave was employed as a laborer at many different businesses throughout the years. He advanced his skills by attended welding classes at Monroe County Community College.
A motorcycle enthusiast, David invested many hours, alongside his eldest son, maintaining his 97 Harley-Davidson Softail Classic. Dave was a fabulous mechanic and always had several vehicles he was tinkering with. He enjoyed attending classic car shows, often in search of his favorite, coveted car, a Pontiac Trans Am of which he unfortunately never had the opportunity to own, or to display his 1970’s Pontiac Grand Prix. Dave was also the proud owner of two Chevrolet Monte Carlos. Dave was an avid fan of NASCAR and had a large collection of Hot Wheels diecast toy cars pristinely displayed in their original packaging.
For more than a decade, Dave had made his home in Mio, Michigan. This was his “happy place” even through the cold, icy winters. Nothing brought more joy than doing what he loved the most, deer hunting. Dave also had a passion for dogs since he was a young boy and was never without a pet.
Dave was very gregarious and friendly, never having met a stranger. He was over the moon with anticipation of becoming a grandfather and had many names picked out for his daughters’ highly anticipated bundle of joy.
