Obituary of Lucky Joe Hammac
Lucky Joe Hammac was born on March 8, 1972 in Monroe, Michigan. He was the eldest of three boys born from the union of Fuson Junior and Judy Lynn (Pfluge) Hammac. Lucky graduated from Monroe Jefferson High School with the Class of 1990. He furthered his education at the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Texas. Lucky spent twenty-five years employed as a locomotive engineer with the Canadian National Railroad Company.
On May 25, 2000, Lucky, married the love of his life, the former Heather Michelle Wentworth. The couple would be blessed with six children: Hollie, Alisha, Julie, Joseph, Tony, and Nathan. Lucky was a true family man and being authoritative he wasn’t afraid to take charge of any situation. He was also the family grill master.
Lucky loved to fish on Lake Erie where he often caught two of his favorite fish; Walleye and Perch. Being an automotive enthusiast, a 1972 Chevelle was his favorite car. Lucky was very handy, regularly setting his mind to building model rockets and radio-controlled cars.
Lucky was a talented musician and a Heavy Metal enthusiast. He wrote his own music as the lead guitarist for the “Bad Neighbors” band. Lucky frequently reminded others that he was “the best guitar player that no one heard of”. He loved jamming out to Metallica and playing his Kirk Hammett ESP model guitar.
Lucky Joe Hammac, age 49, of Gibraltar, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Monday; November 15, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Trenton, Michigan with his loving family by his side. His passing was preceded by his mother: Judy Hammac; a brother: Richard Lee Hammac; his nephew: Mason Hammac; and his grandparents.
To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife of twenty-one years: Heather M. Hammac of Gibraltar, Michigan; six children: Hollie (Marcus) Niswender of Monroe, Alisha Hammac (Jeremy Hatcher) of Monroe, Julie (Tyler) Rogoff of Monroe, Joseph Hammac of Monroe, Tony Hammac (Katie Lydon) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina, and Nathan Hammac of Chicago, Illinois; a brother: Ryan Hammac (Rebecca Davison) of Monroe; his father: Fuson Junior Hammac of Monroe; and eight grandchildren that he adored very much: Alayna Rogoff, Marcus “MJ” Niswender, Charlotte Hatcher, Luella Niswender, James Hammac, Hailey Hammac, Jasper Hatcher, and Analeigh Hammac.
Friends may gather on Thursday; November 18, 2021 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at the Bethany Eagles Nest Community Church; 2740 Nadeau Road Monroe, Michigan 48162. A Celebration of Lucky’s Life will be held at 11:00am on Friday; November 19, 2021 also at the church. Reverend Rex Jones pastor of the church will officiate. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in Lasalle for his burial of his cremated remains.
