Glenda Dusseau

Obituary of Glenda Joy Dusseau

Glenda Joy Guthrie was born on December 29, 1944, in Harlan County, Kentucky. She was one of five children born from the union of Julius and Pauline (Smith) Guthrie.   Following her graduation from high school, Glenda, would take a position with Ford Motor Company.   She humbly was employed as a laborer for over twenty-five years at the Milan plant.   Glenda married the love of her life, Richard Dusseau, and they were blessed with two children.

Glenda loved the Lord, and she was an active member of the North Monroe Street Church of God.   More than anything in this world, Glenda, treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   It was often stated by the grandchildren that Glenda made the best scrambled eggs and toast. Glenda also adored and valued her four-legged companions and the unconditional love they gave her.

Glenda had a sweet tooth enjoying her favorite treats of black licorice and black jellybeans.  She also savored a slider or two from the Kentucky Fried Chicken.   Glenda always looked forward to the special snacks that family and friends would bring her when they would visit.

In her quiet time, Glenda took pleasure in reading her Bible along with other books and doing crossword puzzles. She even dabbled in drawing. It was well known Glenda fancied the music of none other than Elvis Presley. Often, she could be seen listening to many of his songs. She also would take time to watch The Golden Girls and 7th Heaven, her two most favorite television shows.
