Obituary of Jessie Gloria Kelly
Jessie Gloria Kelly was born on November 6, 1956 in Monroe Michigan. She was the loving daughter of Franklin Joe Henry Hammac and Ruth Bassel (England) Hammac. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1974 before continuing her education to obtain her Associate Degree in Nursing from the Northwestern Ohio Practical Nurse Training Center on December 7, 1979.
Jessie was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in long-term care for the past thirty-seven years by Beach Nursing Home and then the ensuing companies here in Monroe, Michigan.
She loved to sew and spent many days shopping, sewing, and quilting at the Lake Erie Merchantile. She also loved painting porcelain dolls. One of Jessie’s favorite pastimes was reading history books about World War II, the Kennedys, Eleanor Roosevelt and anything about Abraham Lincoln. She had a love for Ireland. Jessie loved her family and adored her grandchildren and her numerous nieces and nephews. She was best described as a selfless person who lived to care for others none more so than her own family. She was a truly wonderful mother.
Jessie Gloria Kelly, age 65, of Monroe, Michigan passed away at home on Sunday; November 7, 2021. Her passing was preceded by her father; Franklin Joe Henry Hammac and one brother; Michael Franklin Hammac.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter: Christa Kelly of Plymouth, Michigan; her son: Joel (Breece) Kelly of Adrian, Michigan; her mother: Ruth Bassel Hammac; two sisters: Gail Ruth Poppe of Ida, Michigan and Geraldine (Edward) Karas of Trenton, Michigan; her brother: Jason (Ginger) Hammac of Harrison, Michigan; her two precious grandchildren: Jude and Isla Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather on Friday; November 12, 2021 from 4:00 pm until a Celebration of Her Life at 6:00 pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Pastor Roy Southerland will officiate.
