Obituary of Sandra Lee Adkins-Tahmouch

Sandra Lee Windels was born on January 29, 1973 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born to Gerald Windels and Sandra (Meyer) Windels. After graduating from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1991, Sandy, continued her education at Monroe County Community College which culminated in an associate’s degree, then furthered her education at University of Toledo.

On August 17, 2005 she wed Michel Tahmouch in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, where the couple frequently visited. Sandy dedicated her life to taking care of her family and raising her two children: son, Ryan and daughter, Layla.

Sandy had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed many voyages, from the ocean waves of the Caribbean to the glaciers of Alaska. She’d traveled throughout the contiguous United States from Florida to the West Coast and even across the Atlantic to Germany and Crete. Sandy was always dressed to the nines and loved to shop for clothing with her daughter followed by dinner out at Mexican Gardens restaurant. She never missed watching her daughter’s volleyball games. A social media queen, Sandy was very outgoing and loved to share her experiences and thoughts with her Facebook friends. She was a kind person who simply loved people and her generous spirit guided her to make regular donations to her daughter’s school and members of the community who were in need of a helping hand.

Sandra Lee Adkins-Tahmouch, age 48, of Newport, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital under the care of ProMedica Hospice. Surrounded by her loving family, she was holding Layla’s hand when she passed.   Her passing was preceded by her father: Gerald E.
