Obituary of Pamela Kaye Schultz
Pamela Kaye DuMoulin was born in Monroe, Michigan on March 28, 1957. She was one of three children born from the union of Walter and Mary (Greer) DuMoulin. Pam graduated from Ida High School with the Class of 1975. She continued her education to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration and a Veterinary Technician Certification.
On July 2, 1976, she wed Walter Schultz at Missionary Alliance Church in Monroe. The couple enjoyed forty-five years of marriage and were blessed with a child, Kristie. Pam was employed as the Manager of Wyandotte Animal Hospital, working alongside her daughter, for more than twenty years.
An animal lover since she was a young girl, Pam showed horses with 4-H and trained for Western and jumping competitions. She raised and broke many magnificent horses from young foals. Over time her interest turned to dog training. She participated in “Super Dogs” in the early 1980’s to train canines in flyball, tracking, disc, agility, and dock diving skills. Pam traveled all over the United States and Canada in her RV to show dogs, and had both American and Canadian Champions. She has been invited to both the AKC Agility Nationals and Westminster Dog Shows. Pam was also a member of the Ann Arbor Dog Training Club, and was the founder of the Slammers flyball team, which hosted a semi-annual tournament at the Monroe County Fairgrounds. Very outgoing and energetic, Pam was always busy. If she wasn’t training or showing dogs, she was attending classes to learn more about her passion.
An avid NFL fan, Pam gathered with her family every week for Monday Night Football and annually for the Super Bowl. She especially enjoyed cheering on the Detroit Lions and her favorite player, Troy Polamalu, of the Pittsburgh Steelers. An expert crockpot cooker, Pam kept everyone well fed during the games. A loving and caring person with a gentle soul, she was always friendly and would never hesitate to help someone in need.
