As a child I looked forward to see "Our UPS" worker come a couple times a week to the house. My father ordered many items to be delivered for his business. This was how I originally met Mr Diem. He delivered a personal touch of kindness when delivering items. Try as we might, we just couldnt feel the same about his replacement co-worker, too big of shoes to fill. As a wonderful surprise as a high schooler, I became friends with a classmate who had recently joined the school, Mr Diems youngest son, Jay. Through that friendship, I received the honor to re-meet Mr Diem in a less informal setting. I and my family enjoyed visiting with him and other family members. Throughout the years I was blessed with running into him several times at a Dundee store and catching up on family and friends (aches and pains, too). Its been several years since I last encountered Dr Diem, but no matter how many years have gone by he still hold a special warmth in my heart. My deep condolences to my old friend Jay and his family. Keep those happy and warm feelings close. -Ann Scott

My favorite memories, as the youngest son, Jay (Booyoung) Diem, would be when our family would gather at his eldest sisters house, Nancy (Diem) Waldrop, with his brothers Robert Diem and Wrex Diem amongst many other family. Nancy and Robert precede him in death. All his children, from current marriage, mentioned above, to his children from first marriage, are surviving; Patricia (Diem) Hawkins, Valerie Diem, David Diem (as mentioned above) and myself enjoyed camping with him, including several trips to OH, PA and The U.P.. Additionally he is survived by 8 grandchildren, the three mentioned above as well as Jessica (Chris) White, Jayson Hawkins, Ronnie Huskins, Sloan Diem and Arius Diem.

Chris and Jessica White have three children, David's great grandchildren. Zachary, Austin and Tristen. Austin and his wife Tabitha have an amazing little girl named Abigail, David's great, great granddaughter. The Waldrop family loved to tease David, calling him Uncle Duck. Brothers Bob and Wrex lived in Florida so their children were not around as much however in later years niece Lisa Diem (Wrex's daughter) enjoyed making salsa with David and Rose Marie.
