Obituary of Robert James LeFevre
Robert James LeFevre was born in Monroe, Michigan on August 20, 1949. He was one of seven children born from the union of Harold James LeFevre and Shirley Ann (Halstead) LeFevre. Bob was employed as a die setter at Ford Motor Company for thirty years before retiring in 1995.
On October 6, 1988 he was joined in marriage to the former Sylvia Yount at Faith Baptist Church in Monroe. Bob was a member of the Monroe Rod and Gun Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4230 in Rockwood, Michigan.
Bob had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting deer and small game and frequently hosted friends on his boat on Lake Erie. A very gregarious and friendly man, Bob was always on the go. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make others laugh. Bob also enjoyed reading novels, especially the Clive Cussler science fiction series “Dirk Pitt” and watching the American History Channel.
Bob was blessed with a green thumb and carefully cultivated a vegetable garden every Summer sharing most of his harvest with others. He possessed an extraordinarily generous heart and would not hesitate to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Although, he would never claim them as pets, Bob ensured that every stray cat near his home had a meal.
Robert James LeFevre, age 72, of Newport, Michigan, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Beaumont Trenton Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents; wife: Sylvia LeFevre; sister: Pamela Ann Smith; and close friend: John Sisco, who was like a brother to Bob.
To cherish his memory he leaves two sons: Christopher LeFevre of Newport and Matt (Nicole) LeFevre of Monroe; four grandchildren: Gage LeFevre, Shosheanna LeFevre, Robert Hahn, and Delilah Hahn; three great grandchildren: Ainsley, Ryder, and Wren; three sisters: Denise (Doug) Beausoleil, Renee (Rick) Neal, and Jennifer LeFevre; two brothers: Bradley (Denise) LeFevre and David LeFevre; three nephews: Shawn LeFevre, Brad LeFevre, and Brian LeFevre; nine nieces: Tanya Agle, Karen Sievert, Shannon Leveque, Danielle Beausoleil, Darci Beausoleil, Deanne Beausoleil, Brittani Neal, Alicia Neal, and Riley LeFevre; and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Robert’s Life will be held at a later date. His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
