Obituary of Gabriel Luis Miranda
Gabriel Luis “Gabe” Miranda was born on July 20, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the son of the late Jose Yeldefonso Miranda and the late Victoria (Cardenas) Miranda. Gabriel graduated with his high school diploma in 1973 from Western High School in Detroit, Michigan before furthering his education at Henry Ford Community College.
On December 29, 1983, at the Dearborn, Michigan Courthouse, Gabriel, would marry the love of his life, Miss Cynthia Marie Sievert, and from this union the couple would be blessed with two beautiful daughters: Alanna and Brianna. Gabriel worked for many years as an Elevator Apprentice a proud member of the Elevator Union Local 36 before retiring in 2011.
Gabe loved feeding any and all species of birds. He loved all genres of music, but Rock and Roll was his favorite including bands such as Santana, the Beatles, Bob Seger, the Rolling Stones, John Mayer and Fleetwood Mac. Being born and raised in the City of Detroit Gabriel had a deep love for the city especially the downtown area, he enjoyed attending the Labor Day Parade in Detroit and loved his Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. He cherished children of all ages and loved his three yorkie mixed fur babies; Lily, Santana and Molly. Gabriel was excitedly anticipating the opportunity to meet his future grandson.
To know Gabe was to love Gabe. He had a wonderful sense of humor, an unforgettable smile, and the ability to put a smile on anyone’s face. He loved his family more than anything in this world.
Gabriel Luis “Gabe” Miranda, age 66, of Newport, Michigan passed away at his home on Sunday; September 5, 2021. His passing was preceded by his parents, a sister: Mary O’Tila Dennis; his brother: Carlos Miranda; his grandson: Aiden Stininger; father-in-law: Harold Sievert, Jr.; brother-in-law: Paul Black; and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
To cherish his memory Gabe leaves his wife of thirty-seven years: Cynthia Miranda; two daughters: Alanna Miranda of LaSalle and Brianna “Bree” Miranda of Grand Rapids; and one sister: Mary Bertha (Ralph “Bud”) Okker of Livonia, Michigan.
Friends may gather from 11:00am until 1:30pm on Friday; September 10, 2021 at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:30pm with Father Henry Rebello of St. Charles Catholic Church in Newport, Michigan officiating.
