Obituary of Michael Louis Feketia

Michael Louis Feketia was born on November 3, 1950 in Monroe, Michigan.  He was the son of John B. and Mary Ann (Chickeral) Feketia.   As a child, Michael, enjoyed playing every sport, although basketball was his favorite.   He attended Monroe Schools graduating from Monroe High School in 1967.

For many years, Michael, supported himself as a laborer working in the manufacturing industry.   For a short period of time, Michael, made his home in California, but Monroe held his heart and he soon returned to his hometown.   One of his favorite pastimes was that of fishing.  He would spend countless hours along the shore of Lake Erie casting a line at whatever would bite. 

Michael was quite proud of his Italian and Hungarian heritage.   He loved food with spaghetti being his favorite dish, but his favorite treat of all-time was that of a Root Beer Float from A&W, of which he enjoyed on a daily basis.  

Faith was always a big part of Michael’s life and he loved and believed in the Lord.   The patriarch of the Feketia family he was genuinely a happy person always caring for the needs of his family.

Michael L. Feketia, age 70, of Frenchtown Township, Michigan passed away at home on Wednesday; August 4, 2021.  His passing was preceded by his parents:  John and Mary Ann; his brother:  Gaylord Feketia; his sister: Beverly Ann Feketia; and his grandparents:  Louie and May Chicheral.

Left to cherish his memory are three sisters:  Jona Feketia, Shelly (David) Hasley and Tina (Greg) Zavala, all of Monroe, Michigan; one brother:  Randy McDaniels (Nicole England) of Monroe, Michigan; six nieces:  Brandy Feketia, Tara and T’leah Zavala, Sara Hasley, and Tiffany and Kayla McDaniels; three nephews:  Chris Hasley, and John and Gage McDaniels; two great nephews:  James and Jonas Dickerson.
