Ida Miller

Obituary of Ida Jeanette Miller

Ida Jeanette Reed was born in Onsted, Michigan on May 28, 1931 to Harry and Gertrude (Vanderpool) Reed.   Ida would attend and graduate from Monroe High School with the Class of 1949.   After graduation, Ida married Myron LaVigne and they were blessed with two children. Ida would take employment as a telephone operator from the Michigan Bell telephone company.

For ten years, Ida, made her home with her daughter in California.   While living there she kept her mind and body active and conditioned by participating in Tai-Chi.   Although, she enjoyed her stay Out West in the Golden State, she missed her family back in Michigan and made the cross-country trek back to Monroe.

She would become a resident at Marian Place in Monroe where, Ida, was self-proclaimed “social coordinator” of the facility.   She whole-heartedly would welcome new residents making them feel relaxed and at home in their new surroundings.   This conduct continued as Ida made the move to Fountainview of Monroe.   Wherever she called home she was sure to be a willing participant in BINGO, along with any other social activities.   Ida especially enjoyed arts and crafts, even though she stated she was not very good at it.

Ida Jeanette Miller, age 90, of Monroe, passed away at 1:10pm on Saturday; July 24, 2021 at Fountainview of Monroe.   Her passing was preceded by her parents and siblings.
