Obituary of Douglas E. Raglin
Douglas E. Raglin was born on June 20, 1942, in Letcher, Kentucky. He was one of two sons born from the union of Claude and Susan (Adams) Raglin. On January 30, 1965, Douglas would marry the love of his life, the former Dolores LaFrance in Detroit, Michigan. Douglas proudly wore his wedding band from that day forward not once removing it, even when it became too small for his finger.
The couple would soon be blessed with the birth of three daughters. Douglas supported his family as a repairman, employed for thirty-two years at Ford Motor Company. After retiring, Douglas began working for MSX, test driving cars for Ford. He treasured this position as it afforded him the opportunity to discover much of the continental United States with his bride by his side. His most memorable journey was that of exploring the famous Route 66.
More than anything, Douglas loved his family. They were truly his world, and he was always willing to speak proudly of the accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Douglas believed in the mission of the Masonic Lodge, which was encouraging a way of life that would teach the great principles of brotherly love, relief, and truth to people. For these reasons, Douglas became a member of Lodge 555 in Redford and served as Past Grand Master in 1997. He was also a gifted woodworker, creating cabinets and miscellaneous pieces of furniture for himself and others to enjoy and appreciate in their homes.
Douglas was a friend to all. Known so some as “Doug-E”, there wasn’t a person who knew him that didn’t like him.
