Obituary of Dennis E. Presley
Dennis E. Presley was born June 16, 1957 in Dearborn, Michigan. He was one of four children born from the union of the late Billie Presley and the late Mary Bob (Beeson) Presley. Dennis would attend and graduate from Monroe High School with the class of 1975.
Following graduation, Dennis would take employment as a truck driver. He loved the freedom that driving afforded him and the is hard work and dedication allowed him to provide for his family. He married the love of his life the former Cheryl Stowe on June 17, 1991. The couple had a blended family of three children.
As an avid outdoorsman, Dennis enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dennis would also look forward to camping with family and friends on occasion. He was well known for his great sense of humor and Dennis always looked forward to pulling a prank or two on those he loved.
Dennis was also a die-hard NASCAR fan. He enjoyed visiting the races in person but was sure to never miss an opportunity to catch a race on the television. He appreciated all the drivers for their clean and friendly competition although he favored Joey Logano and his #22 car. More than anything, Dennis, cherished his relationship with his children and grandchildren treasuring the time they spent together.
Denis E. Presley, age 63, of Monroe passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday April 2, 2021 at 6:51am. He had been under the care of Grace Hospice. In addition to his parents his passing was preceded by two sisters: Delia Ann and Donna Jeann; and his grandmother: Mary Beeson.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of more than twenty-nine years: Cheryl Presley; two children: Nicole Sertage and Matthew Presley, one stepdaughter: Anna Dart; a brother: Billie Presley; and three grandchildren: Elizabeth Presley, Laith Banaga, and Malik Hafeed.
Friends may gather on Sunday; April 11, 2021 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will follow at 3:00pm also at Merkle’s with Chaplain Mike Ortell of Grace Hospice officiating. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, guests will be limited in number, face coverings are required for entry, and no food or beverages will be permitted inside the building.
