Vernon Braden

Obituary of Vernon Paris Braden

Vernon Paris Braden was born on February 21, 1960.  He was one of ten children born from the union of Conrad and Carrie (Williamson) Braden.  Vernon graduated from Monroe High School with the class of 1978.  He served honorably and proudly for four years in the United States Navy, with a portion of his time being spent in Guam.

On October 18, 1999, he married his one true love, Sharon (Moody) Braden.  Together the couple would have two children.   She unfortunately would pass away in 2011.

Vernon had a love for the outdoors.  As a young man, he liked spending time hunting pheasant and duck.  When his children were younger, the family enjoyed swimming and barbecuing on the shores of Lake Erie.  It was there that Vernon felt most at peace.  The family would also travel to various campgrounds and enjoy each other’s company around the open campfire.  Coming from a family that was musically inclined, Vernon enjoyed music and strumming his guitar.

Being a quiet soul, Vernon enjoyed time to himself.  However, he would always be the first to lend a hand to anyone who needed it.  He was a very caring man and was strong in his Christian faith.

Vernon Paris Braden, age 61, passed away peacefully at 8:30am on Friday; March 19, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  His passing was preceded by his parents; wife:  Sharon; four brothers; Otis Braden, Arvil Braden, Johnny C. Braden and Ron Braden; and two in-laws:  Leo Braden and Annette Bradley.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his two children:  Nicholas Braden and Kimberly Wapskinch; three sisters:  Lavana D’Arpini, Anita Braden, and Aileen Braden; and two brothers:  Norman (Lori) Braden and Marvin (Rita) Braden.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to his friend, Terry Pruitt and Vernon’s nurse, Carrie, of Elara Care Hospice for their exceptional care during his illness.
