Obituary of Brandi Alexandria Matthews
Brandi Alexandria Matthews was born on December 23, 1977 in Sylvania, Ohio. She was one of two daughters born to the union of Russell and Robin (Arnold) Matthews III. She attended Jefferson High School and later obtained an Associate’s Degree in nursing.
Brandi had a caregiver’s heart and a passion for serving others. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse at Rivergate Terrace nursing home in Riverview, Michigan. She loved her position and cared deeply for her patients.
Brandi enjoyed spending her time outdoors, especially near the water. She would often visit her parents at their home on White Lake in Brooklyn, Michigan and frequently traveled to Florida to soak in the sun and take a dip in the ocean. Her love of travel extended across the country, with Oregon being another favorite destination. An “exercise nut”, she could often be found at the Y.M.C.A. working to build her strength and endurance. Brandi loved all genres of music and attended dozens of concerts. Her absolute favorite band was Maroon5 and she was infatuated with their lead singer, Adam Levine. A New Kids on the Block and Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch super fan, she followed the group across the country along with her mother and sister to see them preform live. As much as she enjoyed listening to music, Brandi equally loved the thrill of watching a scary movie. She often fell asleep to the reality television show “Ghost Adventures”, which features paranormal investigators or following along in the Mystery Machine with her favorite cartoon investigators, the gang from Scooby-Doo.
Brandi Alexandria Matthews, age 43, of Monroe, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
