Karen Snell

Obituary of Karen Lavella Snell

Karen LaVella Snell was born on June 21, 1954 in Tecumseh, Michigan. She was the eldest of four children born from the union of the late Walter Snell and Barbara (Good) Snell.   Karen was raised in Dundee, Michigan where she would graduate with the Class of 1972 from Dundee High School.

At an early age, Karen, learned to appreciate the simple things in life.   She loved music and often listened to her favorite CKLW tunes on her transistor radio while singing along.   She enjoyed animals, but her favorite were cats and kittens always finding a cozy spot to curl up on her lap.

Camping, fishing, and swimming all over Michigan made up Karen’s favorite vacations.  She loved to laugh and had a way to quietly tease people that made them laugh too.  Karen seemed to remember everything, especially the things you wish she didn’t.

Karen attended the Michigan Institute for the Blind, as she began losing her sight in her early 20’s.  She met her canine best friend, Ginger there.   Karen would often be found knitting and crocheting beautiful works of art which will be treasured by her family for years to come.
