Obituary of Ronald James Efta
Ronald “Ron” James Efta was born on March 18, 1954 in Beach, North Dakota. He was one of three children born from the union of the late Francis John Efta and Mary Ann (Tosner) Efta. Ron would attend and graduate from Wibaux High School in Montana, where he lettered on the football and basketball teams.
After commencement, Ron remained in Montana for several years staying busy by taking a few college courses. It was here that he would meet and marry the former Clara DeBuck. The young couple would soon be blessed with the birth of four children, three boys and one girl. Ron and Clara would make their home in Montana for a few years while, Clara, began her first teaching position. They would soon pick up their family and move across country to Monroe, Michigan where Ron would begin a successful career as a carpenter, using the skills he had learned from his dad.
Ron would feed his spiritual appetite by attending services at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Monroe. He always had joy reading his bible and listening to gospel music, yet he also found it relaxing to be out dabbling the vegetable garden.
More recently, Ron became interested in one of the oldest hobbies in the world:36 the systematic accumulation of coin collecting. Playing sports in high school led to a lifelong love of watching sports. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions. Ronald loved watching them play on television, and often paired the game with a backyard cookout with his close friends.
Ronald James Efta, age 66, of Monroe passed away at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital at 4:01pm on Friday January 22, 2021. In addition to his parents, his passing was preceded by an older brother: Donald Efta.
