I grew up in a large family as well, with humble and loving parents. I'm actually the youngest of nine children, one of which was severely/profoundly disabled. Despite the challenges of caring for a large family with a special needs child, my parents somehow managed to ensure that we had enough love, attention and life lessons that we still value today. This is what parents do - they lead by example and always remind us to be respectful, work hard and look out for others. Following these basic tenants has enabled us to recognize others with strong character, foster empathy and have the inherent desire to bring these same traits home to our own family's. Although I didn't have the privilege of meeting Virginia, I have certainly seen her reflection in the eye's of her son Iggy. He is kind, compassionate and feisty. I have no doubt that she was a wonderful person, whose memory will comfort and inspire others. This will be her legacy and I'm certain that she will continue to watch over all who loved her.

Sara and Allison, We lost touch years ago but I often thought of all of you. Your "mother" Virginia was such a wonderful lady and I was so lucky to have had her in our lives for the years that we did. She loved everybody with everything she had and she would give you anything she had if you needed it. We will miss you Virginia. Rest in Heaven
