Obituary of Kerry Michael Aldrich
“Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23
Kerry Michael Aldrich passed away peacefully at University of Michigan Hospital on January 2, 2021. Kerry had been in poor health for more than a year.
Kerry was born July 17, 1954 to Raynard and Stella (Amolsch) Aldrich. He attended Trinity Lutheran grade school and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1972. Kerry was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In 1979 Kerry had a horrific accident that left him in a wheelchair. He became a peer counselor for others with spinal cord injuries, instead of focusing on himself. Kerry and Debbie (Bond) were together for decades and were wed on October 30, 2020. They went everywhere and did everything together, always together.
Kerry had his demons but overcame them almost 18 years ago with the help of his loving wife, Debbie. Kerry and Debbie oversaw several Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, and Cocaine Anonymous meetings in Monroe. They helped numerous addicts with their recovery, and he will always be remembered as a caring, giving person. Kerry was very proud, as we all are, of his recovery and service to others. If you sponsored Kerry at any time, thank you. If you were helped by him, please stay on track, and pay it forward.
Kerry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Matthew Aldrich. We are certain they met him at the gate as he ran forward on new legs.
Kerry is survived by his wife, Debbie; stepsons Tim (Eboni) Bond and Chris Bond; brother Steven (Tammy) Aldrich; sisters Terry Sype and Sue (Rod) Foshag; sister-in-law Rebecca Woolum and brother-in-law Jerry Woolum. He is also remembered by his nieces and nephews: Amanda (Steve) DeBoodt, Connie (Lance) Cuykendall, Jason Foshag, Sarah (Kyle) Angelocci, Jarod (Debi) Foshag, Kassondra Aldrich, Kevin Aldrich Lily Woolum, Kristen (Zach) Scott, Wayne (Jessica) Woolum and thirteen great nieces/nephews.
Private services have been held and no public services are planned. Arrangements have been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185.
