Obituary of Lawrence John Digue Sr
Lawrence John Digue Sr. was born on September 20, 1939 in Wyandotte, Michigan to the union of Alvin and Veronica (Brueggeman) Digue. Larry and his siblings were raised in Newport, Michigan. Larry graduated from Monroe High School and years later moved to Monroe. Larry was employed as a machinist for nearly fifty years. As dedicated as he was to his work, he finally made the difficult decision to retire from Right Tool & Die.
Larry was an active member of the Monroe Moose Lodge 884, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Monroe, where he would often partner up with friends for a game of Euchre. Larry had a great sense of humor. Larry also spent many hours cultivating his vegetable garden and found joy in sharing his abundant crop with friends and family. He also spent many hours working in the yard.
Larry looked forward to visiting the serene and beautiful surroundings of Montcalm County, every deer season. He started deer hunting with his brother in-law and Larry’s son eventually joined them. They hunted the property for nearly thirty years. Additionally, he would visit his son at his home in North Carolina to deer hunt. Larry also enjoyed hunting small game, such as rabbit and squirrel, and continued this tradition until the age 79. Throughout the years, Larry did his fair share of fishing as well. He enjoyed fishing at Bolles Harbor for perch.
